Omarlift, an Italian firm that produces lift control units and pistons, invests in practical, tailored training for its staff and client company engineers. Founded in the 1940s as Omar – Officina meccanica autoricambi, specialising in spare parts for cars, the company has gone through significant changes. In the 1970s, it focused on industrial hydraulics. In the early 1990s, after the Wittur group took over, it shifted to the lift industry and took on the name Omarlift. In 2013, a team of managers bought the company, making it Italian and independent once more. Since then, turnover has increased from €10 million to €19 million, with a presence in 72 countries.
Today, Omarlift manufactures about 10,000 control units and pistons annually and supplies a variety of cable transport systems, with and without gear trains, made overseas. Its mission is to provide top-quality components for the lift industry, leaving buyers to create the complete systems themselves.
Training, as Massimiliano Calcerano, the firm's deputy sales manager, stresses, is key for Omarlift. “We don't have a dedicated training division because our courses aren’t generalist; they're designed to help customers use our equipment easily, with joint support from our R&D and Sales teams,” explains Calcerano. Training is available online, in-person, or at client sites, including abroad in countries like Turkey, India, and across South America, where Omarlift technicians deliver tailored sessions. This method fosters deep knowledge of Omarlift equipment, guaranteeing quality and safe use.
