“Elevators play a fundamental role in the construction market, being an indispensable product for mobility in both the private and public sectors," says Michele Mastropasqua, CEO of Tekno Sms, an Apulian company that designs and manufactures customised elevators and goods lifts that can be adapted to any environment. The group's products can be found in most parts of the world. It is particularly active in the Mediterranean region, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. “The elevator sector also felt the positive impact of the Superbonus schemes and some specific incentives, such as those related to the removal of architectural barriers," adds Mastropasqua. Some of these incentives are still available today, such as the 75% deductibility for architectural barrier removal. “At the beginning of 2025, we are still dealing with the demand generated by this situation, with various orders still to be installed, representing a trail left by the various Superbonus schemes. On the other hand, we see the decline in demand indicated by the Cresme report, which is around 16% in the private housing sector", stresses the Tekno Sms leader. “However, this downturn did not affect our business, as our specialisation in the production of special equipment, which is particularly in demand in public buildings, brought us an increase in orders, confirming the upward trend in the public sector.”
Nova Elevators, founded in 1992 by Lino Govoni, is the world leader and is managed by his children Pietro, Carla and Paolo. The latter, who holds the position of CEO, has signalled the company's evolution from an exclusively family-owned business to one with a strong managerial presence, including two women out of four area directors. The company is present in more than 50 countries worldwide and exports 65% of its production through a network of more than 135 partners. “We focus on tailoring specialisation, thanks to which we have consolidated our identity as a quality Italian manufacturer with a focus on design," underlines Paolo Govoni. He also stresses the importance of continuing to innovate in order to succeed in an increasingly competitive market. One of the results of this research is “Code”, a fully panoramic, cab-less, buttonless mini-elevator that offers unprecedented space and incorporates the latest touch technology. “No longer a simple platform for vertical mobility, but a true design object that becomes an integral part of the architecture," says the CEO.
Internationalisation is the hallmark of LiftingItalia, which is present in more than 50 countries, "a process made possible thanks to a constant commitment to innovative design solutions", emphasises CEO Paolo Franceschi. The latest product innovation is Simplift, “the only electrically powered worm gear home lift that counts customisation and versatility as its strength,” he says. It features 112 platform size combinations and comes standard with our own Sentinel remote control system, so the installer and end user can monitor the system at all times," he concludes.
