ANACAM, the Italian Lift industry Association, is the historical association of the Italian companies operating in the elevator sector. It currently gathers over 450 industrial and artisan companies operating in the design, manufacturing, installation, maintenance and repair of lifts, hoists, escalators and moving walkways, lifting platforms, stairlifts and other similar equipment.
The member companies carry out maintenance on a very significant share of the lifts in service in Italy, estimated at over 1 million units, and employ about 10 thousand employees with high technical-professional qualification. Within the Association, established in 1971, all the components of the supply chain are therefore present.
The main objective of ANACAM is to support the growth and development of member companies by encouraging their consolidation on the market and enhancing their peculiar role as independent SMEs.
The Association takes care of relations with the competent national and European institutions and dialogues and collaborates with other business associations, with associations representing condominium managers, people with disabilities, consumers, property owners, tenants, certification and inspection bodies, with the technical offices of the Municipalities and, more generally, with all stakeholders.
ANACAM is a founding member of EFESME, the European Federation based in Brussels that protects the interests of European SMEs in the sector towards the EU institutions.
ANACAM experts, directly or through EFESME, play an active role in Italian (UNI), European (CEN) and international (ISO and ETSI) technical standardization bodies and in the Committees that support the European Commission in the the application of directives/regulation of interest in the lift sector.
